Bourgault 7200 Heavy Harrow ~ A Wide Range of Standard Features

Total Hydraulic Control
Straw conditions are not always going to be ideal. The ability to make all of the adjustments that affect the operation of the bar on-the-fly is as fundamentally necessary to the proper operation of a heavy harrow. Any heavy harrow will do a good job in perfect conditions but only the 7200 will still be performing when conditions deteriorate.
Advanced Hydraulic Cylinders
The 4” x 24” cylinders that control the rotation of the main boom are specially designed for operating over rough ground when in a horizontal position by using extra hardened supports in the cylinder gland. All other hydraulic cylinders are advanced design, re-phasing, with the Teflon® piston seal protected from contamination damage by wiper seals located on both sides of the piston seal.

Long Life Harrow Tines
The 7200 features 5 rows of (14 x 660mm) straight tines on 20” (508mm) centers. Straight tines are used to ensure the most uniform straw release. The tines are adjustable between 45° and 80°. The tine angle is adjusted on-the-fly using hydraulic cylinders and heavy duty rock-shafts. Tine down pressure is also adjustable on-the-go. Optional 5/8” x 26” (16 x 660mm)tines are available by special order.)
Spring Loaded Sections
Each harrow section is spring loaded using heavy-duty extension springs. These springs eliminate harrow bouncing regardless of the operating speed. They also allow the operator to apply high down forces on the harrow sections, yet allow the section to trip out without damage when an obstacle is encountered. The amount of down pressure on the sections is fully adjustable from the cab allowing the operator to select the optimum down pressure for the situation.

Visible Gauges
Tine angle, down force, and harrow section angle are fully hydraulically controlled and can be made on-the-fly to adjust for variable straw conditions. Highly visible indicator gauges let the operator know at a glance how the bar is adjusted. The gauges make it easy for an operator to return to previous settings.
Trouble Free Operation
The booms are 8” x 8” x .250” (203 x 203x 6mm) wall hollow structural steel. The hitch beams are made of 8” x 3” (203 x 76mm) hollow structural steel. The rock-shafts are 3½” (89mm) in diameter, and made of heavy wall tubing. The heavy-duty knuckle system uses 1½” (38mm) diameter pins. The 7200 is designed and tested to handle high-speed operation with the highest horsepower tractors.

Double Acting Cable
A Double Acting Cable design gives the operator the benefits of a cable and a solid draw without any negative effects. The design consists of cables linking the wing booms to the front of the hitch to take the working draft loads and a pair of cables at the rear of the bar limiting the forward movement of wing booms.
Automatic Boom Latch
The 7200 features an automatically locking/unlocking system to release the cable boom draws. The rotation of the main center boom activates the latches just before the harrows are vertically positioned. To ensure that accidental unlocking of the boom draws cannot occur, the 7200 features a quick and easy method of deactivating the latches.

The 7200 Heavy Harrow can be ordered with a Valmar granular herbicide applicator installed by Bourgault’s factory personnel.
