The Bourgault spring trip cushion design utilizes increasing force geometry. This design approach allows Bourgault seeding systems to continue providing consistent operating depth where competitor’s systems just ride on top of the ground.
Bourgault shanks are backed by a 5 year replacement warranty, plus a 50% lifetime warranty afterwards.
The 330 lb (150 kg) spring trip assembly incorporates a 1" (25 mm) pivot protected with a greaseless nylon bushing and a 1” x 2” (25 x 50 mm) shank. The 330 lb trip works well for seeding in most conditions with smaller openers. It can also be the correct choice for primary tillage in lighter soils.
The 450 lb HD (204 kg) spring trip assembly incorporates a 1" (25 mm) pivot protected with a greaseless nylon bushing and a 1¼" x 2"(32 x 50 mm) to 1” x 2” (25 x 50 mm) tapered shank, which is 55% stronger than a 1" (25 mm) shank. The Bourgault 450 lb HD trip is best suited when the tillage unit may be used periodically for heavy tillage operations, or it is used as a seeding unit in heavy soils with something other than a low disturbance opener.
The 500 lb (225 kg) and 600 lb (272 kg) double-spring trip assemblies are available on the 9400, 9500 and 9800 Chisel Plows. The 500 & 600 lb trips are equipped with a 1¼" x 2" (32 x 51 mm) shank and a 1" (25 mm) pivot protected with a greaseless nylon bushing.
Not only are Bourgault spring trip assemblies more durable that the competition, you will appreciate the low parts cost when maintenance is required.
Note: Operators should consider 450 lb (204 kg) HD trips with double shoot openers due to typically higher draft forces. It is important to understand that double shoot openers typically cannot guarantee seed and fertilizer separation in all conditions. For consistently better seeding results in a one-pass operation, consider seed-only openers with Bourgault MRBs®.
