One Platform Endless Possibilities
The Cutting Edge 2026
Have you been thinking about adding a planter to your farm operation? For many air seeder owners, this has become a major consideration in recent years. If you’ve looked at planters, have you ever considered an Air Planter? That begs the question: What exactly is an Air Planter—and what makes it different from any other planter on the market?

Simply put, the Bourgault Air Planter™ option allows you to plant or seed using one common seeding platform, reducing overhead costs. Owning and maintaining two separate systems—an air seeder and a planter—can be cost-prohibitive. More importantly, the Air Planter™ offers distinct advantages not found on traditional planters. It’s a system worth a closer look.
At the core of the Air Planter™ are electrically driven XP Duo™ meters, which use positive air pressure to hold seed on the planter plate and deliver singulated seed to the openers. Each Duo meter feeds two seed openers— an industry first—cutting the number of singulators in half and reducing electrical loads, complexity, and space requirements. It’s a true two-for-one deal!

This design also enables singulation down to 10-inch row spacing, a feature unmatched by any other planter. The air pressure delivery system maintains full control of the seed all the way to the soil, ensuring accurate placement—even on hilly terrain where gravity would normally interfere.
The ParaLink Row (PLR™) opener was developed with singulation in mind. It gives producers the unique ability to seed or plant with the same implement—another industry first. Built for tough no-till conditions, the PLR™ opener penetrates hard soils and places seed accurately where traditional planters would struggle.

Its well-tested compound angle gently lifts the soil and tucks the seed into position with minimal disturbance, conserving soil moisture and maintaining seedbed integrity. Proven durability means significantly lower maintenance costs compared to other openers.
When operating with the Air Planter™ option, you can position dry fertilizer or granular inoculant in-furrow volumetrically with singulated seed—something unheard of on any other planter. Imagine the possibilities this opens up for crop nutrition and efficiency!
All Air Planter™ units are compatible with Bourgault’s exclusive Mid Row Bander® for safe, efficient nitrogen application in a single pass. With Bulk Fill capabilities from frame-mounted tanks and 8000/9000 series air carts, getting acres done has never been easier— even with high rates of seed, fertilizer, or other granular products.
The Bourgault Air Planter™ option represents a major step forward in planting technology. By combining air seeding efficiency with precision planting, it improves seed placement accuracy, increases planting speed, and reduces waste. For farmers looking to maximize yields, lower input costs, and stay competitive in a rapidly evolving agricultural landscape, the Air Planter is an investment worth considering.
