A Choice for Every Producer

Expect the highest degree of durability with a robust frame construction that makes competitors green with envy.

  • The heavier built Bourgault 2-row, 5" x 5" frame achieves superior penetration where other units ride up.
  • The robust construction ensures the frame will perform reliably in the rough agricultural work environment year after year.

ParaLink Row™ Opener

The ParaLink Row™ Opener (PLR™) provides two very distinct advantages in today's coulter drill market.

  • Developed in conjunction with the Air Planter™ Product Delivery System, the PLR™ offers Producers the distinct advantage to seed and plant with the same implement!
  • The durability and ingenuity built into the PLR™ Opener makes it longer lasting and easier to set than the competition. Get more seasons from the wearing components such as the coulter or the scraper boot with the Bourgault PLR™ Opener.

The Hi-Flotation™ Option

3720 ICD available with the Hi-Flotation option in select sizes

Expand Your Seeding Window

The HF™ option allows you to get into the field sooner, providing your crop with an early start. In addition, HF™ provides you with confidence when traversing challenging or restrictive terrain such as soft and narrow roads.

Stay on Top with HF™

Stay on Top

The taller profile of the Hi-Flotation™ tires helps prevent the front of the drill from “diving” in in wet conditions and reduces draft in soft field conditions.

  • The large, front mainframe tires provide 65% more surface area than the standard dual tires, while the large singles on the front wing wheels increase the surface area by 27%. This much larger footprint keeps the drill on top in conditions that would cause regular seed drills to sink.
  • As much as 70% of the weight applied from the drill to the tires is transferred through the front running gear in a high draft scenario. For this reason, the majority of the additional rubber is focused on the front of the drill.

Superior Tracking

Effectively Manage Turns with HF™

  • Transport safety is greatly improved with the Hi-Flotation™ option, particularly on narrow roads with soft shoulders.
  • The wagon-style hitch provides superior tracking when negotiating narrow back roads and approaches.

Air Planter™ Configuration

PLR Opener is designed it work in conjunction with the positive pressure air planter

The PLR™ Opener is designed to work in conjunction with the optional positive pressure Air Planter™ System. The same opener is also compatible with the proven PDM Pro™ Metering Auger and air kit to provide accurate and consistent seed placement for cereals, pulses and oil seed crops.

The furrow is first opened by the seeder boot of the PLR opener pressed against the inside of the disk

Seed Furrow

The furrow is first opened by the coulter disk and maintained by the scraper/seed boot pressed against the inside of the disk. The Air Planter™ has a defined furrow for delivering the singulated seed.

The XP Meter from the Bourgault Air Planter System employs positive pressure to direct seed to the Air Planter planter boot

Air Planter™ Boot

The eXact Placement™ Meter (XP Meter™) employs positive pressure to the Air Planter™ boot. The seed exits at a set velocity and angle to meet the soil at the bottom of the furrow just in front of the firming wheel. Captured between the wheel and the soil, seed spacing is maintained as it is pressed into the moist soil at the bottom of the furrow.

The packer wheel of the Bourgault PLR opener creates a beneficial environment for quick and even germination

Packer Wheel

The packer wheel follows behind the firming wheel to direct loose soil and firm it over the furrow to create a beneficial environment for quick and even germination.

Include dry or liquid fertilizer in the seed row with Bourgault 3820 Air Planter

Starter Fertilizer

A valuable option available to 3820 Air Planter™ Operators is the ability to include dry or liquid fertilizer in the seed row.

  • Dry starter fertilizer can be directed through the air kit to the seeder boot.
  • Liquid fertilizer can be directed through a line mounted on the front of the planter boot.

Volumetric Configuration

Directs seed to the bottom of the furrow, eliminating the opportunity for seed bounce.

When operating as a traditional air coulter drill, product from the air kit exits the seeder boot and is directed to the bottom of the furrow with a plastic seed retainer, eliminating the opportunity for seed bounce. The seed is then pressed into the seedbed by the firming wheel, ensuring excellent seed-to-soil contact.

Ensure excellent seed-to-soil contact with the seeder boot of the PLR opener

Seeder Boot

When operating as a traditional air coulter drill, product from the air kit exits the seeder boot and is directed to the bottom of the furrow with a plastic seed retainer, eliminating the opportunity for seed bounce. The seed is then pressed into the seedbed by the firming wheel, ensuring excellent seed-to-soil contact.

This seed boot also acts as a disk scraper, wiping the inside clean to ensure an intact furrow is cut.
